Q. How is Humane Yoga different to other studios and gyms?
Humane Yoga is the only dedicated yoga studio in the Alstonville area. You won’t hear the clang of gym equipment in the background and are guaranteed a relaxing experience, free from distractions (of what’s in our control, at least).
Our boutique studio can only accommodate a small number of students so you will receive more attention from your teacher and a more intimate experience (compared to a bigger space).
We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive community and allow you to delve deep into your yoga practice - beyond the superficial. We help you delve into the deeper layers of you- not just the physical. By sharing with you the mental, emotional, and spiritual elements of yoga we hope to inspire you to live a more vital and full life - no matter what your belief system.
Our teachers are approachable and experienced, and we are passionate about supporting you on your yoga journey.
Q. What styles of yoga do you offer?
We offer several styles tailored to different bodies, moods, and experience levels. Our classes are adjusted for your unique body, but if you’re new to yoga we recommend attending one of the more gentle styles or coming to our Signature Foundations Series course. Head to the class styles page to learn more.
Q. I’m a beginner. What are my options?
You are welcome in any of our classes as we modify them for beginners. If you’d like to build up some knowledge of the foundations of the practice or build your confidence before coming to a general class, we highly recommend these options:
Check out some of our online classes. We have a variety of on-demand collections as well as some free YouTube videos.
Join our Foundations Series. This course is run a few times a year and includes 5 weekly classes breaking down all the yoga styles we teach for your body, a two-week trial pass and a 30-minute private.
Book a private session with one of our teachers beforehand. We offer 30-minute beginner walkthroughs to give you the basics and more in-depth sessions tailored to suit your needs.
If you still have questions - send us an email at relaxedhumans@humaneyoga.com or give us a call on 0484 113 526.
Q. I have some health concerns or injuries. How do I tell you about them?
Enter these details into the form provided when purchasing your pass or membership.
If you’re dropping-in email relaxedhumans@humaneyoga.com or call 0484 113 526 beforehand with any questions or concerns.
Of course, you can also arrive a little early and chat with your teacher about any minor concerns.
Q. How many people are in each class?
Our studio is intentionally small, allowing for more one-on-one attention and an intimate community. We currently cap our classes at 10 people.
Q. How do I book in for a class?
Go to our class page, scroll down and find the class you’d like to attend.
Click ‘book now.’
This takes you to the checkout page where you can purchase the single class or a class pass or membership.
Q. I’ve purchased a membership or class pass and want to book all my classes for this week now. How do I do this?
Each class is booked separately by selecting the class and then booking each time.
We recommend downloading the Momence scheduling app for your mobile device to manage your bookings. Instructions on downloading the app are in your membership or pass welcome email.
Q. I want to book in as a drop-in and pay cash. Can I still attend?
Contact us on 0484 113 526 and we will help you out!
Q. What happens if only one person is booked for a class?
To ensure a vibrant group experience, we require more than one booking to run a class. If there’s only one participant, we may cancel the session, but you'll always receive advance notice.
Q. I want to bring along another person. Can I add them under my class pass?
Sure! Send us their full name, phone number and email address to 0484 113 526 or relaxedhumans@humaneyoga.com and we’ll add them to your pass.
Q. I want to book a spot but my technology isn’t working. Can I still attend a class?
Contact us on 0484 113 526 or relaxedhumans@humaneyoga.com and we’ll help you out!
Q. What classes can I use my class pass for?
Your class pass can be used for any classes at the studio and our fortnightly moon circles.
Workshops and other events are not covered under your pass and are paid for separately.
Q. What do I bring to class?
All you need is to bring yourself and wear comfortable clothes.
You may like to bring a drink bottle, towel, or any other props you prefer - but we have plenty of mats, bolsters, blocks, and straps in the studio.
Q. What is your door-locking policy?
For security and to maintain a calm environment, teachers may lock the studio door 5 minutes after class starts. If you arrive late, please understand that the door might be locked, and entry may not be possible. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to settle in
Q. I booked a class but forgot to cancel or reschedule. Can I get a credit for the class?
Reschedules are available up to an hour before the class starts. Unfortunately, after this time the class is not available for redemption and is forfeit.
Unlimited Monthly Memberships and 6-month pass holders can cancel or reschedule anytime.
Q. What is the latest time that I can reschedule a class?
You can re-schedule a class through your account up to 1 hour before the class starts. If you do not reschedule your class before this time you will be charged for the class.
